To all of you who put your names on the ballot next to Sandra’s. Thank you.
Whether you attend the convention as a delegate or an alternate, this party is stronger because we stood together.
We need your energy, enthusiasm, ideas and imagination in Toronto at Maple Leaf Gardens on January 25th and January 26th as party members come together to select our next Leader and Ontario’s next Premier.
Each and every one of us have a role to play in shaping the future of our party and we hope to see you there.
So you won a delegate spot. What next?
We need all of our delegates at convention to vote for Sandra!
So you didn’t win a delegate spot. You can still join Sandra at convention!
If your name appeared on the ballot, but you didn’t win a delegate spot, you automatically qualify as an alternate to the convention.
As an alternate you are entitled to participate in all aspects of the convention – speeches, parties, breakout sessions, and rallies.
Alternates do not have a vote at the convention; however, if someone from another candidate’s campaign won a delegate spot but didn’t show up to the convention, that spot is up for grabs by alternates. There are no guarantees, but it can happen.
We encourage all alternates to attend the convention – to enjoy the floor experience, to support campaign related activities, potentially qualify to become a delegate, and to be part of a memorable weekend.
